Dental Crowns By The Best Restorative Dentist in the Jupiter, Florida area

May 13, 2015

Dental Crowns Jupiter FloridaTeeth that are cracked due to injury or failing because of extensive decay can have a whole new lease on life with porcelain crowns. Designed for your individual mouth and quality-crafted with precision, a dental crown can restore color, form and eating ability to your mouth.

The restoration called the dental cap (or porcelain crown) benefits many patients at Juno Beach Smiles. Favored by the best restorative dentists in Juno Beach, porcelain crowns can be building blocks of great-looking and rebuilt smiles.

What Porcelain Crowns Can Do For Your Smile.

In their Juno Beach practice near Jupiter, Dr. Greg Riley and Dr. Duane Keuning have many uses for dental crowns–always with the purpose of bringing a patient’s mouth back to its healthiest and brightest best. After taking a dental impression, the dentist sends his instructions to a dental lab where the crown is individually made. He then can use it to:

  • restore a tooth that has viable roots but too much decay or too many fillings
  • anchor fixed bridgework comprised of one or more replacement teeth
  • strengthen a tooth with a serious fracture
  • cover a tooth which has had root canal therapy
  • cover a metal dental implant
  • beautify a discolored tooth so it no longer stands out among surrounding teeth

Amazingly, a dental cap looks, feels and works like your own tooth used to. Also, when people look at it, the crown is virtually indistinguishable from its good-looking neighbors.

The Porcelain Crown Procedure

After taking x-rays and impressions, Dr. Riley or Keuning will prepare the tooth by removing the old filling material and decay and shaping the tooth to accept the crown. Teeth with extensive decay and sensitivity may need root canal therapy first. All this work is done with benefit of a local anesthetic. After the tooth is prepped, a temporary crown may be placed.

At the next dental visit, the patient receives the new crown. Securely glued in place and adjusted for bite, the dental cap creates an attractive, renewed look for the Jupiter patient.
