Invisalign vs. ClearCorrect: What’s the Difference?

Do you dream of improving your smile? If so, you are not alone. A recent survey conducted by OnePoll found 61% of Americans wish they could change something about their teeth. One of the main things they wanted to change was the crookedness of their pearly whites. Fortunately, modern times have made it possible to do just that without having to wear a mouth full of metal! Orthodontics like Invisalign and ClearCorrect use a series of clear aligners to gently move your teeth into place over time. But which one is best for you? Here’s a quick comparison of the two invisible braces.

#1. Treatment Duration Time

The invisible trays of clear braces progressively move your teeth into their desired and optimal position. As long as you consistently wear them for the recommended time (20-22 hours), your smile will become straighter within your treatment plan timeline. While the daily time commitment is the same, the overall duration of treatment differs between Invisalign and ClearCorrect. The average treatment for Invisalign is 10-12 months, while ClearCorrect takes about 13.5 months. The completion time is only slightly different between the two, but it can be a considering factor if you are wanting to improve your grin within a certain range of time or for a particular event.

#2. Affordability

Although the cost for Invisalign and ClearCorrect varies, there are overall averages. Invisalign typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000 while ClearCorrect often runs between $2,000 to $8,000. However, the price for either option could fall outside of these ranges based on your unique case and recommended treatment plan. Your dental team can help determine the exact cost, as well as provide any possible financing options. Some practices work with third-party companies like CareCredit to make treatment for your new smile possible.

#3. Material

While both options are made from medical-grade plastic, they are composed of different materials. Invisalign is made from thermoplastic while ClearCorrect aligners use polyurethane resin. Many who use the Invisalign trays report that they are more comfortable and easier to take in and out. Alternatively, ClearCorrect aligners are made from a slightly thinner material that seems to make them more discreet looking.

So, Are You an Ideal Candidate for Invisible Braces?

In general, most adults are good candidates for invisible braces. They can fix a range of orthodontic issues, such as:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Mild overbites, underbites, or crossbites

Invisible braces like Invisalign and ClearCorrect can give you a confident smile without anyone ever noticing! By being aware of the differences and with help from your dentist, you can choose which option will be the best for you so you can have the teeth you’ve always wanted.
